Please review and distribute as appropriate.
The Texas Department of Motor Vehicles (TxDMV) has made the decision to delay the rollout of RTS Release 7.4.0 that includes the National Motor Vehicle Title Information System (NMVTIS) until May 12, 2014. Please make any adjustments to your schedules that are necessary to accommodate this change.
While there has not been a major issue identified during the Pilot Test, we feel the complexity of the integration required between TxDMV and NMVTIS warrants additional Pilot Testing to ensure all processes at all volumes are working as expected.
TxDMV continues to be excited about the rollout of the National Motor Vehicle Title Information System (NMVTIS) and looks forward to statewide implementation on May 12.
We will closely monitor the additional testing effort and will confirm the revised rollout date with you prior to go live.
PLEASE BE ADVISED:
This does not change any dealer activity required for the release; it only delays the timing of the rollout.
TO DTA PARTICIPATING DEALERS:
It is IMPERATIVE that all DTA participating dealerships verify that their DTA software has been updated/upgraded to the most current DTA version for RTS 7.2.0. This must be done prior to go live on May 12.
Between May 12 and June 30, all DTA dealerships must update/upgrade their DTA software to be compatible with RTS 7.4.0.
Although RTS is programmed to accept the current DTA version, plus one version back on July 1, 2014, only the current DTA version for RTS 7.4.0 will be accepted. DTA transactions processed on or after July 1 using RTS 7.2.0 compatible software will be rejected and sent back to the dealership.
DTA DEALER ACTION:
* Prior to May 12, 2014, update your DTA software to RTS 7.2.0 version.
* On or immediately after May 12, update your DTA software to RTS 7.4.0 version. This update must be completed prior to July 1, 2014.
If you need additional information, please contact the TxDMV IT Service Desk at (512) 465-4010.
