Please review and distribute as appropriate.
We have received some calls on an issue that impacts the renewal of certain vehicles that require a carrying capacity to calculate registration fees.
RTS Version 6.4.0 included a fix for an issue relating to the required entry of a carrying capacity, for certain vehicle classifications. Now a weight must be entered in the Carrying Capacity field or the system will not advance to the next field. When a carry capacity is entered, it is added to the empty weight and the result is that the registration fee due does not match the fee printed on the renewal notice.
Short Term Solution:
- Use the Subcontract Event to process affected renewals; or
- Contact the RTS Help Desk for workaround instructions
If your office does not currently utilize the Subcontractor Event, contact your local VTR Regional Office or the RTS Help Desk to walk you through the process of setting your office up as a subcontractor
Long Term Solution:
A meeting is being scheduled for next week to discuss long term solutions and we will advise you as soon as a solution is identified.
If you have any questions, or need additional information, please contact your local VTR Regional Office or the RTS Help Desk at 512-302-2020 or 1-877-933-2020.
If you have any comments or suggestions concerning this VTR communication process, please contact your local VTR Regional Office.
